Select from a Wide Range of Best Pinot Noir Wines
Pinot Noir is the grape that broke a thousand hearts, the most alluring and frustrating of all the vitis vinifera. Notoriously prone to disease and frost, it is labour intensive and hard to grow economically. But when it is done right, it makes what many would argue are the world’s greatest red wines (see the legendary Burgundies of Henri Jayer and Domaine de la Romanee Conti). Few places in the world can grow this glorious grape, but New Zealand’s cool climates like Central Otago, Martinborough and Marlborough have rapidly asserted themselves as the best Pinot regions outside of the Cotes d’Or.
